Fellowship of Christ, Zimbabwe
The Link has supported Christian work in Zimbabwe since 1990. Over many years our fellowship has been associated with Fellowship in Christ, a church grouping led by Simon Majoni and Silent Gwashavanhu. Fellowship in Christ has grown considerably in recent years from a handful, a few years ago, to now over 1300 members with at least six congregations led by young and developing pastors.
Iain and Norma Allan, Jim and Rosemary Storm and Angela Isbister have visited a number of times over the years especially to minister at the Easter Conventions, but also to take leadership training classes in different regions. Some other Link members have on occasions been part of the team.
Financial support is regularly sent which helps to support the pastors and their families. Other aid has gone across at different times to help alleviate the poverty and hardship many find themselves in.
Around 40 orphaned children have started attending school as a result of a sponsorship programme set up in Autumn 2011. We also took up a special offering to provide some assistance with school fees for a number of pastors' children in Zimbabwe.
